PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, as a method for manufacturing alcohols and glycerins from oils and fats, a manufacturing method capable of obtaining alcohols and glycerins in high yields by inhibiting side reactions.SOLUTION: In the provided method for manufacturing alcohols and glycerins, oils and fats are hydrogenated by adding thereto an alcohol (A) having a solubility parameter (SP) value of 16 (MPa)or above and 28 (MPa)or below in the presence of a catalyst in a state where water coexists. |
