PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination light source that can restrain a crack from occurring in a case.SOLUTION: The illumination light source comprises: an LED module 20; a driving circuit 40 for causing the LED module 20 to emit light; a first case 60 configured to surround the driving circuit 40; and a second case 70 configured to surround the first case 60 and constituting an outer frame. The coefficient of linear expansion of the second case 70 is larger than the coefficient of linear expansion of the first case 60, and a gap is provided between the first case 60 and the second case 70.
