A media file format, a media file reproducing method, and a media file reproducing apparatus are provided to apply various animation effects to a moving image or a still image while minimizing data capacity. A media file reproducing method includes a step of analyzing media information of animation data and media information of image media, and a step of applying the animation data to the image media by using the analysis result. The media information of the animation data is time information. The media file reproducing method further includes a step of inquiring meta data of the animation data by using a given search word(S520), and a step of outputting the inquiry result(S530).
