PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation device that enables an extended focal image or 3D (three-dimensional) image having an unwanted texture deleted to be easily obtained.SOLUTION: The observation device comprises: a stage on which a specimen is placed; an objective lens that condenses observation light from the specimen; focus adjustment means that is capable of adjusting a distance between the stage and the objective lens; photographing means that acquires a specimen image by photographing the specimen; control means that causes the focus means to adjust the distance between the stage and the objective lens, and causes the photographing means to photograph a plurality of the specimen images at a plurality of positions different in the distance; selection means that selects an image for use in generating a composite image from the plurality of the specimen images; and composite image generation means that generates at least a part of the composite image by use of the plurality of the specimen images selected by the selection means. |
