The purpose of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell system inhibiting a reduction in fuel gas exhaust amount estimation precision. The fuel cell system is provided with a control unit that estimates a fuel gas exhaust amount in an open valve period based on a fuel gas disappearance amount in the open valve period of a discharge valve and a fuel gas consumption amount resulting from power generation by a fuel cell in the open valve period. A pressure rising period in which a pressure rises and a pressure declining period in which the pressure declines are present because of intermittent fuel gas injection by a fuel injection unit. The control unit calculates the fuel gas disappearance amount in the open valve period based on a rate of decline in the pressure in the pressure declining period in the open valve period and a considered rate of decline in the pressure in the pressure rising period in the open valve period that is considered to be same as the rate of decline in the pressure in the pressure declining period. |
