<p>An equipment for manufacturing optical fiber preforms by outside vapor phase deposition is provided to easily produce various soots having homogeneity at a time. The equipment for manufacturing optical fiber preforms comprises the parts of: an injection part(330) where several nozzles(331) for injecting gas and flame are arrayed vertically; a supporting part(320) for supporting several preform rods(340) around the injection part, which comprises a chuck(322) linked a preform rod and a frame(321) supporting chucks; an operating part(310) for providing rotational force to the supporting part, which comprises a first operating unit(311) for rotating the frame and a second operating unit(312) for rotating a second gear(314); a control part(370) for sending a sign controlling the height of each preform rod, based on the weight of preform; a control unit(360). The optical fiber preforms are manufactured by arraying preform rods around the injection part, rotating preform rods, and injecting flame and gas(SiO2, GeCl4) to the preform rods to deposit soot on each preform rod.</p> |
