PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions for detecting protein and methods of using the compositions.SOLUTION: A method for detecting and/or quantifying protein by separating protein from detergent comprises 1) a step of bringing a sample containing protein and the detergent into contact with a solution containing a) a cellulose derivative and b) a solution containing a cyclic oligomer, and 2) a step of separating protein from the detergent; and a method for detecting and/or quantifying protein comprises i) a step of bringing a sample containing protein into contact with a first solution containing a cyclic oligomer, ii) a step of bringing the protein-containing sample into contact with a second solution containing protein complex forming pigment, and iii) a step of detecting and/or quantifying the formation of a pigment/protein complex.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
