PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a filter used for a smoking article such as a cigarette, a cigar, and a thin cigar.SOLUTION: A filter for a smoking article includes a first fiber filter material having an average fiber denier in the range of 7-9, and a second fiber filter material having an average fiber denier of less than 7. The second fiber filter material is dispersed in the first fiber filter material. The first and second fiber filter materials include discrete staple fiber oriented disorderly in the filter. The present invention includes a filter for a smoking article having a variety of other filter configurations containing an absorbent material and/or an adsorbent material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
