PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter having a power element 31 which can turn on/off electricity-carrying to a motor 2 independently from a main contact point and a drive control circuit (control unit 32) which controls on/off operation of the power element 31 which are incorporated in an electromagnetic switch 6.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic switch 6 has a motor electricity-carrying route which can carry electricity to a motor 2 through a route which is different from a route for carrying electricity to the motor 2 via a main contact point, and a power element 31 (for example, MOSFET) is connected to the motor electricity-carrying route. The power element 31 is arranged so as to thermally contact with a B-fixed contact point 26, and on/off-controlled by a gate signal which is outputted by a control unit 32. Furthermore, a control board constituting the control unit 32 is accommodated in a frame 7 constituting a magnetic circuit of the electromagnetic switch 6, and arranged between and among a coil 12 of a solenoid SL2, the B-fixed contact point 26, and an M-fixed contact point 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
