PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which is thin and lightweight as a single camera, can use a primary cell available anywhere such as a dry cell at need, increases the weight, and can increase a feeling of stability in photographing. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is configured by an operating section having a display device, and an image pickup section rotatably connected to the operating section by a rotating mechanism and provided with a light emitting device and a photographing lens to transmit a video image to the display device, and this electronic camera is characterised in that a grip having a grip section serving as a battery housing section is detachably attached to the operating section from the outside.
