<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acceleration/deceleration controller for improving pedal operability when a vehicle travels backward by realizing one pedal mode when the vehicle travels backward. <P>SOLUTION: This acceleration/deceleration controller is provided with a mode switching means having one pedal mode for performing acceleration control and deceleration control according to the operation of an accelerator pedal or a brake pedal and a normal mode for performing acceleration control according to the operation of the accelerator pedal and for performing deceleration control according to the operation of the brake pedal, and for performing switching between one pedal mode and the normal mode.
