摘要 A fluid pulse dampener with automatic pressure-compensation is provided. A system of chambers and channels in the dampener creates an internal feedback mechanism that increases or decreases a compensating pressure on the membrane in response to increases or decreases in the pressure of a fluid moving past the other side of the membrane. Variations of the pulse dampener allow for the input and/or output of gas flow to be restricted or increased as may be desired.

A fluid pulse dampener with an auto-compensation mechanism comprising: a main body comprising an elongated fluid channel having a fluid input port at a first end of the fluid channel and a fluid output port at a second end of the fluid channel, wherein the fluid input port and the fluid output port are adapted for connecting to a pressurized fluid conduit, and wherein the fluid channel has a first opening and a second opening, wherein the first opening is closer to the fluid input port than the second opening and the second opening is closer to the fluid output port than the first opening; a membrane adjacent to a portion of the fluid channel, wherein said membrane covers the first and second openings; a pneumatic cover comprising: a dampening chamber adjacent to at least a portion of the first opening in the fluid channel, wherein the pneumatic cover defines a portion of the dampening chamber and said membrane encloses a remaining portion;a variable-restrictive element (“VRE”) chamber adjacent to at least a portion of the second opening in the fluid channel, wherein the pneumatic cover defines a portion of the VRE chamber and said membrane encloses a remaining portion;an air pressure buffer chamber, wherein said air pressure buffer chamber is connected to said dampening chamber by a first channel, and wherein said air pressure buffer chamber is connected by a second channel to said VRE chamber, wherein said air pressure buffer chamber has an air input port that connects said air pressure buffer chamber to an external gas source, and wherein the air input port is adapted for connecting to a pressurized air source as the external gas source; andan air output port connected by a channel to said VRE chamber and open to an external gas.
