PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator panel whose electron detector converts the energy of X rays into sensitive red light and also shows the capability to indicate a low afterglow level. SOLUTION: The scintillator panel emits red light through the exposure to X rays. A scintillator layer in the panel is a layer containing luminescent rare-earth element activating lutetium oxyorthosilicate phosphors expressed by a formula, Lu<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>Si:xM (where M is chosen from among a group of rare-earth elements consisting of Eu, Pr and Sm and x is 0.0001 to 0.2).
