1. An image data generation device that generates image data based on a print job, comprising:
a tray information acquisition unit configured to acquire tray information including at least a remaining number and a status of consumables used in each of a plurality of trays of a printing machine; a number-of-consumables-used calculator configured to calculate the number of consumables used based on the print job; and a raster image processor configured to determine a tray to be used and a direction of the image data based on the tray information and the number of consumables used, and generate the image data by performing a raster image processing in the determined direction.
