PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink for inkjet recording which uses a pigment capable of suppressing deterioration in printing quality due to density unevenness.SOLUTION: The water-based ink for inkjet recording of the present invention contains a pigment and water and further contains tripropylene glycol and a C8-C10 1,2-diol. The content of the tripropylene glycol is 28 wt.% or less based on the total amount of the water-based ink. The weight ratio (X:Y) of the tripropylene glycol (X) to the 1,2-diol (Y) in the water-based ink is 50:1 to 2.4:1.
