PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platen roller pressing apparatus capable of pressing a thermal head along the axial direction of a platen roller by equal pressure, and a heat sublimation type printer equipped with this. SOLUTION: In the platen roller pressing apparatus, by pressing spring members 41, 42 and 43 arranged between a spring pressing member 3 and the thermal head 2 by the spring pressing member 3, the thermal head 2 is pressed on the platen roller 5, and the spring member 41 is arranged at a position to be the center of the platen roller 5. When the thermal head 2 comes into contact with the platen roller 5, the central part of the platen roller 5 is slightly bent, but a pressing force pressing the spring member 41 by the spring pressing member 3 bends the central part of the thermal head 2 so as to bend along bending at the central part of the platen roller 5, and therefore, the thermal head 2 is pressed along the axial direction of the platen roller 5 without forming a gap and by equal pressure 1.
