The device (1) has a temperature influencing device e.g. water channel (15) and heating mat, for reducing thermal deflections of a cross beam device. The temperature influencing device affects temperature of the device in multiple areas of the device. The temperature influencing device is designed as fluid circuits (11, 12) that are separated from each other. The temperature influencing device is actively controlled. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing thermal deflections of a cross beam device.
