PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device capable of substantially reducing noise generated from a driving device while maintaining the driving device compact and light-weight, and a sound proofing method for the same. SOLUTION: In the backside of a cover 283 covering the entire front of a main unit, i.e., wall parts 292 and 293 which are surfaces facing the front of the main unit, a Helmholtz resonator including a hole 295 and a cavity is disposed to absorb a sound of a frequency which becomes a peak of noise of a hard disk drive. Accordingly, the noise is effectively reduced. Especially, as the cover 283 covers the entire front of the main unit, and the areas of the wall parts 292 and 293 are large enough to dispose more Helmholtz resonators, sound absorbing performance is more enhanced.
