In a method for renewing a track (2) and cleaning a ballast bed (3), the old track is lifted in sections from the ballast bed as a track section (15), transported forward in a working direction (4), and placed on a track section railcar (8). The uncovered ballast bed (3) forming a construction gap (17) is cleaned by a cleaning machine (11), waste material (32) produced thereby is transported forward beneath the track sections (15) positioned on the track section railcars (8) and stored in silo wagons (10). New rails (29), arranged upstream and underneath new sleepers (27) which are positioned on sleeper railcars (14), are moved forward via the cleaning machine (11) into the construction gap (17) and placed on the cleaned ballast bed (3). The new sleepers (27) are placed on the cleaned ballast bed and connected to the new rails (29) lifted up from the ballast bed (3). |
