PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction tester capable of reproducing temperature dependency similar to the case of measurement of an actual product by a laboratory test in a stage of a test piece, and reducing dispersion of measurement. SOLUTION: In this friction tester, the test piece X is arranged in a thermostatic chamber 51 capable of adjusting an atmospheric temperature in the chamber, and the rotating test piece X is pressed onto a friction test surface 4c provided on the circumferential surface 4a of a rotating drum 4, to thereby measure a friction characteristic of the test piece X.
