PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double arm type chain tensioner capable of letting tension force act on two loosening side spans of a chain proportionally. SOLUTION: A first tensioner arm 26 capable of turning around a first arm pivotally supporting pin 38 is provided in a first tensioner body 28, and a second tensioner arm 30 capable of turning around a second arm pivotally supporting pin 42 is provided in a second tensioner body 32. A first link end part and a second link end part of a link bar 24 are turnably connected with a first body pivotally supporting pin 50 of the first tensioner body 28 and a second body pivotally supporting pin 52 of the second tensioner body 32, respectively. A ratio of distance between the first arm pivotally supporting pin 38 and the first body pivotally supporting pin 50 to distance between the second arm pivotally supporting pin 42 and the second body pivotally supporting pin 52 is changed to control giving tension force proportionally.
