PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide distributed antenna systems including simulcasting configurations to improve performance of a wireless communication system.SOLUTION: Distributed antenna systems (DASs) include a plurality of spatially separated remote antenna units. A first group of remote antenna units selected from the plurality of remote antenna units simulcasts downlink transmissions on a first carrier with a particular sector identity (ID). A second group of remote antenna units, including at least one different remote antenna unit from the first group, simulcasts downlink transmissions on a second carrier with the same sector ID. Two or more remote antenna units 208, 210 which include respective coverage areas 200 that are non-adjacent to one another simulcast downlink transmissions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
