PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a carbon material with which a nonaqueous secondary battery having high capacity and excellent low-temperature input/output characteristics and cycle characteristics can be obtained; and a high performance nonaqueous secondary battery using the carbon material.SOLUTION: A composite carbon material for a nonaqueous secondary battery is a composite carbon material containing a carbonaceous material (B) on a surface of a carbon material (A) that is capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions. The average of microscopic Raman R values and the standard deviation (σ) of 30 composite carbon materials selected at random are 0.1-0.85 and 0.1 or less, respectively. The composite carbon material has a tap density of 0.6-1.20 g/cmand a specific surface area of 1-30 m/g.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
