PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce reduction in zooming rate at switch of holding a ring operational member and allow smooth change of angle of view.SOLUTION: The lens controller includes: a ring operational member arranged like a concentric circle with respect to an optical axis of a variable-power lens; detecting means detecting the operational rate of an operational member; calculating means calculating a desired moving rate of the variable-power lens on the basis of the operational rate detected by the detecting means; and control means controlling drive of the variable-power lens, the calculating means calculating a desired moving rate on the basis of the operational rate detected in the operation of the detecting member, and the controlling means driving the variable-power lens, using a first desired moving rate when a desired moving rate calculated in the operation is smaller than the first desired moving rate calculated at the start of the operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
