PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the spectral image of a subject by the hue of the real thing in an electronic endoscope apparatus for forming the spectral image at a particular wavelength band from the output image signal of a color imaging device. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope apparatus includes: a light source 14 that irradiates a subject with white light; a color imaging device 15 that takes an image of the subject; and a spectral-image forming circuit 29 that forms the spectral image at a particular wavelength band from RGB three color image signals obtained by converting Y (luminance)/C (color difference) signals outputted by the device 15. The spectral-image forming circuit 29 is adapted to generate spectral image signals representative of the spectral images in colors at a specified wavelength band. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
