Provided is a method of searching for an appropriate biomarker. This biomarker search method includes a step of detecting disorder-specific signature molecular information from patient omics information, and a step of obtaining a biomarker from the signature molecular information. In the step of searching for a biomarker, the following processes are performed repeatedly: a process of selecting molecular information to be processed, from the signature molecular information; a step of performing regression analysis, taking the treatment effect as a dependent variable, and taking variable data relating to clinical information prior to treatment, and variable data relating to the molecular information being processed, as predictor variables; a step in which, if the determined coefficient from the regression analysis is at least equal to a prescribed threshold, the treatment effect, the clinical information prior to treatment, and the molecular information being processed are set as nodes, and a network structure is generated on the basis of partial correlations between each node; and a step of determining whether or not a causal relationship at least equal to a prescribed threshold exists between the molecular information being processed and the treatment effect, in the network structure. |
