<p>An arrangement for supporting a mortar shell into the barrel of breech-loading mortar weapon comprising a support piece (8) with a rim flange to attached to the tail of the mortar shell. Between the support piece (8) and the mortar shall tail, a connecting element (7) providing a mechanical joint which enables the support piece (8) to be attached to the tail of the mortar shell. The support piece (7) includes a firing member (9), with which the actual primer (5) can be fired to discharge the mortar shell. The connecting element (7) being manufactured of such material and constructed in such a way that it fractures when the charge of the mortar shell is fired, allowing the mortar shell (1) to detach from the support piece (8).</p> |
