An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for establishing a communication connection between a STA and an access point. The method comprises: an AP receives request frames sent by N STAs to the AP, N being a natural number greater than or equal to 2; after the AP receives the request frames sent by the N STAs, the AP contends for a channel and sends a response frame to M STAs, the response frame comprising identifiers of the M STAs and M responses to the M STAs, the identifiers of the M STAs being in a one-to-one correspondence to the M responses and being used to instruct the M STAs to receive the response belonging to the M STAs from the response frame sent by the AP, M being a natural number, and 2≤M≤N. By the means of the method, authentication response frames or association response frames of multiple STAs may be contained in one frame to be sent, thereby saving downlink resources.
