The container has a cover and a base (4) that forms a receiving area (2) for receiving of the cosmetic product. The base exhibits a two-layered structure, an outer layer (5) and an additional layer (6) made from wood and attached directly over an intermediate layer (7). The outer layer is made of a transparent material such as transparent plastic and/or metal, and is formed by a plastic prefabricated injection-molded piece. The intermediate layer is made from a transparent material such as plastic or a wood. The additional layer and/or intermediate layer are made of a precious wood such as mahogany, teak wood, ebony, rosewood, pock wood, zingana/zebrano, walnut, sycamore tree, yew tree, robinia, box wood, curled maple, maple, cherry tree or pear.
