PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound capable of forming a fluorescent resonant electron transfer pair with another dye, capable of using a biomolecule labeled with a rhodamine derivative for analysis and diagnosis by including specific two kinds of structures. SOLUTION: This compound has a structure of formula I or formula II [A1 to A3 are each H, cyano, a halogen or the like; B1 is a halogen, cyano or the like; B2 is H, amido or the like; Ca to Cd are each a carbon atom, Ca is bonded to Cb and Cc is bonded to Cd by a single bond or a double bond; X1 to X16 are each a halogen, sulfonic acid, a (substituted) 1-20C alkyl or the like; R1 and R2 are each H, a (substituted) 1-20C alkyl, a polyoxyhydrocarbyl unit or the like; with the proviso that at least R1 contains a group to be activated and R2 and X4 may be bonded arbitrarily by cross-linking composed of 0-2C] (e.g. a compound of formula III). The compound is usable as a fluorescent dye and for fluorescent resonant energy transfer system, a diagnosis system and a labeling and/or detecting a nucleic acid.
