PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam deceleration device capable of safely discharging steam etc. by moderating the flow velocity of the steam, etc. with an inexpensive and simple structure. SOLUTION: The steam decelerating device 10 comprises an discharge port attaching part 12 to be detachably attached to a discharge port of a steam discharging device such as a steam oven; a side part 14 extending downward from the discharge port attaching part 12 to surround the internal space 19; a diffusion nozzle 16 disposed in the internal space 19 and connected to the discharge port attaching part 12 to diffuse steam etc. as a spray; and an apertured bottom part 18 closing the lower part of the side part 14 to demarcate the internal space 19 together with the side part 14 to face the outlet of the diffusion nozzle 16. The steam etc., permeating the discharge port attaching part 12, is diffused by the diffusion nozzle 16 to reach the apertured bottom part 18.
