PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion device which can improve productivity in a case of inserting a second recording medium between a plurality of first recording media.SOLUTION: An insertion device which can insert a second recording medium into a conveyance path 900 to convey a plurality of first recording media B fed from a feeding device includes: a loading unit 540 in which the second recording medium is loaded; a separating unit 550 which separates the second recording medium, which is loaded in the loading unit 540, one by one according to an insertion request from the feeding device; a detection unit which detects time of separation of the second recording medium performed by the separating unit 550; a calculation unit which calculates first feed timing to feed a following first recording medium Bf, which is conveyed in the conveyance path after the second recording medium, to the conveyance path on the basis of the separation time detected by the detection unit; a notification unit which notifies the first feed timing to the feeding device; and an inserting unit 560 which conveys the second recording medium separated by the separating unit 550 to a joining position to join it onto the conveyance path and inserts the second recording medium into the conveyance path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
