PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort articles into a plurality of alignment passages without using a collection part for collecting articles or a conveying mechanism for returning collected articles to an upstream position.SOLUTION: An alignment method includes a closing step, a receiving step and an alignment step. In the closing step, the pathway of the articles 101 that travel in a plurality of alignment routes 17 is closed. In the receiving step, a plurality of the articles 101 are received at a receiving part 16 located upstream of the plurality of the alignment routes 17. In the alignment step, the plurality of the articles 101 received at the receiving part 16 are transferred to the plurality of the alignment routes 17, and the plurality of the articles 101 are caused to enter the plurality of the alignment routes 17. In this alignment step, an article 101C that travels from the receiving part 16 is caused to contact the rearmost article 101D in the alignment route 17A filled with the plurality of the articles 101 to change its traveling direction. Each of the articles 101 is caused to climb over inclined portions 14a of a plurality of partition parts 14A and is sorted into one of the alignment routes 17 other than the alignment route 17A. |
