PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extinguish a fire by making fire extinguishing water positively fall into a fire source position without being influenced by the wind. SOLUTION: A fire extinguishing device extinguishing a fire started in a monitor area, by discharge guns 5a and 5b is provided with fire source position detecting parts 2a and 2b for detecting a fire source position, and a discharge control part 1a for preparing a mathematical model taking account of the influence of outside air flow on discharge flow, estimating the actual influence of outside air flow on discharge flow at real time on the basis of the mathematical model and correcting the direction of the discharge guns 5a, 5b discharging fire extinguishing water into the fire source position.
