PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for exterminating termites, capable of preventing termites from appearing and/or capable of exterminating termites in the proper surroundings. SOLUTION: The preparations have a form of long and narrow solid body consisting of (a) a core part constituting degradable, macroscopic solid matrix including at least one kind of binder polymers and a substance active against termites as bases and (b) a housing including at least one of substances active against termites. The active substance of the housing can be released into the surroundings under the action of moisture of at least the surroundings and therefore the quantity of active materials released from the housing into the surroundings in terms of unit time decreases in process of time when the preparations are exposed to the surroundings.
