PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of effectively suppressing separation of a catalyst from a partition wall even when carrying the catalyst having a relatively high thermal expansion coefficient.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 100 includes a columnar honeycomb structure part 4 having a partition wall 1 that divides and forms a plurality of cells 2 extending from a first end surface 11 and a second end surface 12 that constitute a flow channel for fluid. The partition wall 1 is made of a madreporic body having aggregates and a binder to bond the aggregates together in a state in which pores are formed between the aggregates. The aggregates contain molten silica particles. The binder contains glass. A content ratio of SiOin the madreporic body is 70 mass% or more. A thermal expansion coefficient of the madreporic body at 40-800°C is 1.5-6.0×10/°C. |
