PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a positive electrode active material from being softened and dropped out by preventing a separator from being ruptured and pressing a positive electrode plate with excellent stacking pressure even when a lead acid storage battery is exposed to vibration during use.SOLUTION: In a separator interposed between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, a plurality of streaks of rib parts are provided on the single surface of a porous resin thin film, a glass mat is stuck between the rib parts, the glass mat is stuck to the outside of the rib parts at both side as well, the glass mat is made thicker than the height of the rib parts during normal times, and the tip of the rip parts is compressed by stacking pressure of 10 to 60 kPa and made to be flush with the top surface of the rib parts when housing in a battery box an electrode plate group formed by lamination so that the tip of the rib parts abuts on the positive electrode plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
