PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peritoneal dialysis patient connection system using sterilizing ultraviolet light emitting diodes.SOLUTION: A light applicator (20) for a peritoneal dialysis conduit connection (80, 90) includes: a housing having an inner surface; a plurality of ultraviolet ("UV") light-emitting diodes (30) ("LEDs") positioned on the inner surface of the housing; and circuitry connected to the UV-LEDs such that power can be supplied to energize the UV-LEDs simultaneously. In one embodiment, a light applicator for a peritoneal dialysis conduit connection comprises: a housing having an inner surface; a plurality of ultraviolet ("UV") light-emitting diodes ("LEDs") positioned on the inner surface of the housing; and circuitry connected to the UV-LEDs such that power can be supplied to energize the UV-LEDs simultaneously.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
