PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To close a flow passage by lowering a load body by dead weight, by releasing a brake, by rocking a shifter by manually operating a dead weight lowering lever in an emergency, in a load body driving device for opening and closing this flow passage. SOLUTION: This load body driving device transmits rotation of a motor 1 or a manual handle 7 as the vertical movement of the load body 20 via a power transmission device 14, and opens and closes the flow passage by the load body 20. A cam projection 51 is arranged on a clutch shaft 11 rotating by the dead weight lowering lever 2, and a shock absorbing disc spring 30 is arranged at a rocking fulcrum 8 of the shifter 12. The shifter 12 is rocked via a cam projection 17 by operating the dead weight lowering lever 2 in the emergency, and an armature 45 and a brake disc 44 are separated, and the brake of an unexcitably operable holding brake 3 is released, and the load body 20 is lowered by dead weight.
