<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an aqueous pigment dispersion and to provide a method for producing the same for producing an aqueous ink composition for inkjet recording excellent in dispersion stability, particularly to provide a method for producing an aqueous pigment dispersion capable of producing an aqueous ink composition that exhibits good ink-jetting properties when used as an ink for thermal jet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the aqueous pigment dispersion for inkjet comprises kneading a styrene acrylic resin having 50-90 mass% of a styrenic monomer unit and an acrylic acid monomer unit or a methacrylic acid monomer unit and an acid value of 50-300, a pigment, a wetting agent and a basic compound to prepare a colored kneaded product, and then dispersing the colored kneaded product in water or an aqueous medium composed of water and a wetting agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
