PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety of an extended memory area secured on a memory of a host computer and to be used by a memory controller.SOLUTION: A memory controller controls a memory in a storage device. In the memory controller, a controller memory stores data corresponding to an area allocated to the memory. A controller processing section allocates a part of the controller memory to a host memory in a host computer, to be used as an extended memory area. An integrity processing section generates an error detection code in storing data in the extended memory area, and detects an error, on the basis of the error detection code in reading the data from the extended memory area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
