<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following failures; when printing on a thick continuous paper of high ream weight and on a continuous paper having a high air permeability value, a suction pressure becomes more higher due to the poor permeability of the paper, then, the the situation causes the increase of a paper feed resistance on a preheater, paper feeding is interfered by a deficiency of the feeding force, then, printing does not work. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device for the continuous-paper image forming apparatus includes: a preheater having a heating means for preheating the paper while sucking the paper to come in contact with the heater; a heating roll with a built-in heater; and a pressure roll that rotates in contact with the heat roll while being supported attachably/detachably to/from the heating roll. The fixing device is configured to make the continuous paper with a transferred image pass through the preheater, thereafter, make the continuous paper pass through a nip between the heating roll and the pressure roll, then, fix the formed toner image onto the transfer sheet. The fixing device includes a pressure control means for controlling a suction pressure of sucking the continuous paper by the preheater provided to suck the continuous paper as a specified pressure, so that the excessive paper feed resistance does not arise due to the paper width and the gas transmission rate value of paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
