<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust removing device which controls the moving direction of a movable unit in dust removing operation according to the posture in which an imaging device is held. <P>SOLUTION: The dust removing device for the imaging device is provided with: s the movable unit having an imaging element; a detector which detects information for specifying the holding posture of the imaging device in the gravitational direction; and a control unit which controls movements of the movable unit on a plane parallel to mutually perpendicular first and second directions perpendicular to the optical axis of an imaging optical system forming an optical image to be incident on the imaging plane of the imaging element. For the dust removing operation, the control unit moves the movable unit in one of the first and second directions according to the holding posture to collide against a movement end of a movement range of the movable unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
