NITRILASE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBOXYLIC ACID USING NITRILASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a carboxylic acid from a nitrile by using a nitrilase having high organic solvent resistance.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a carboxylic acid comprises a process for bringing a nitrile compound into contact with a nitrilase that is derived from Arthrobacter sp. F-73 strain and has specific physicochemical properties in an aqueous solution containing an organic solvent and recovering a formed carboxylic acid.
