PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of deposit from being promoted due to condensation water generated in an EGR passage 50 of an engine 1 and thus prevent failure caused by accumulation of the deposit.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine includes: determination means for determining whether or not condensation water is generated in an EGR passage 50 for a set time or longer (Step ST5); water discharge control means for prompting discharge of the condensation water by increasing a flow rate of EGR gas flowing in the EGR passage 50 to predetermined amount or more when the determination means makes an affirmative determination (Yes) (Step ST7); and air-fuel ratio control means for controlling an air-fuel ratio of the EGR gas to become richer than a theoretical air-fuel ratio when the discharge of the condensation water is promoted (Step ST7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
