<p>The method involves converting a direct current voltage into a high-frequency alternating current voltage (UHF), which is supplied to a series resonant circuit. The voltage dropped over a resonance capacitor (C5) is supplied to a gas discharge lamp (3), and the frequency of alternating voltage is provided in proximity of the resonance frequency of the resonant circuit for igniting the lamp. The alternating voltage is fed to the lamp only during the ignition phase and a positive-half cycle of a main power supply. An independent claim is also included for an electronic power supply unit with a rectifier connected with a power line.</p> |
