PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently, stably, and via a simple procedure producing diphenyl carbonate with high purity.SOLUTION: In a production method of diphenyl carbonate, diphenyl oxalate is subjected to a decarbonylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst, in which absolute pressure at the time of the decarbonylation reaction is 0.105 to 10 MPa, and in which the catalyst is preferably tetraarylphosphonium halide. The absolute pressure at the time of the decarbonylation reaction is preferably controlled by adjustment in accordance with the discharge amount of carbon monoxide by-produced in the decarbonylation reaction. Besides the by-produced carbon monoxide is preferably used as a production raw material of diphenyl oxalate, and it is especially preferable to produce diphenyl carbonate by using the diphenyl oxalate produced from the by-produced carbon monoxide as a production raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
