<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by equalizing total color materials on the surface of a recording material and reducing diffused reflection of light. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing device comprises a color material color separation section 101 as a color conversion means to carry out color separation in accordance with ink colors of a printer for an image input by using a color material color separation LUT (lookup table) registered in the printer as an initial value, a color material computing section 102 as a component color material use computing means to compute a total color material as the quantity of component color materials used for each pixel from ink color separation data by the color material color separation section 101 and to obtain a maximum value, a total color material adjustment section 103 as an adjustment control means to readjust the total color materials for all pixels by using the total color material for pixels for which the total color material peaks on the basis of total color materials for all pixels computed in the total color material computing section 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
