PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device of which size reduction is easily attained. SOLUTION: The disk device 100 is provided with a turntable 221 arranged below the case body 110, a temporary fixing part arranged above the turntable 221, and a disk-holding mechanism 320 elevated between the turntable 221 and the temporary fixing part. When an exchange disk is inserted via a disk insertion port in the loaded state of a reproducing disk in the turntable 221, the disk device 100 holds the exchange disk by the disk-holding mechanism 320, to temporarily fix it by the temporary fixing part. When the reproducing disk is held by the disk-holding mechanism 320, and the ejection of this reproducing disk via the disk insertion port is recognized, the disk device 100 holds the exchange disk temporarily fixed by the temporary fixing part to load it on the turntable 221.
