PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus at low cost which can select a cap which surely sucks a liquid. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector comprises a recording head 24 ejecting ink from a nozzle, a carriage 20 for reciprocating the recording head 24 in the main scanning direction, a plurality of cap spaces 25 capping the nozzle surface so as to cover the nozzle of the recording head 24, a suction pump 26 for sucking the ink from the nozzle by applying a negative pressure to the cap spaces 25, a plurality of tube members 27 for sucking and discharging the ink with the suction pump 26 by respectively communicating with the plurality of cap spaces 25, a deformed member 30 for selecting the tube member 27 to maintain or intercept communication with the cap spaces from among the plurality of tube members 27 according to the moving position of the carriage 20, and a lever member 29 for intercepting the communication of the tubing members 27 with the cap spaces from the selection of the tube members 27 by the deformed member 30.
